We have the August event currently schedule for 8/13/11. I think the one suggestion we've had so far is for something outdoors and/or involving water.

We've done a picnic in the past, and inner-tube float trips down the Canon River. Movies are also popular for August due to the heat.

Anyof these ideas appeal to the group, or do you have another suggestion? Post here.

Let's go ahead and meet at Fish Lake Park at 3:00pm on Saturday. Let's meet near the beach. See you all there!

Valley Fair has discounted admissions of $26 for groups of 15 or more, so there is an idea. That's $16 off of the regular admission and includes the water park.

If we do this, we could still do a picnic. I've used the picnic area and it's very nice for waht it is. We went there Father's day with the family and walked into one of the snack shops. Walked right back out empty handed. $9 for a hamburger (w/o fries) seemed excessive.

We need 15 for the group rate. Need to start getting some committments or look into either full price or another event.

I'm told the Cannon River tubing was closed last weekend becasue the river's too high.

if Valley Fair dosnt work out we could find a park and a picnic. I know Lake Ann in Chanhassen is a very nice park. it has open area, fields, playgrounds, walking paths and a lake with a beach! Also Alex and I like to walk around Fish lake Park in Maple Grove. I know they have a nice lot of land to do stuff too.

I like the picnic thing, mainly cause i need to be frugal till September while I get my apartment stocked and my revan costume made. If we get the group rate for valley fair I will do that though.

Doesn't sound like we have the minimum for Valley Fair, so I'd vote for picnic then. I used to live right by Lake Ann, that swimming beach is pretty cool. Does Fish Lake have a swimming beach?

well discount my prior opinions. my family reminded me today that that weekend is the end of our vacation. so i will be out of town that day. however september camping weekend sounds awesome... as long as tor is not releasing that week lol.

I checked with Welch Mill Canoeing and they are officially closed until further notice due to high water. So a picnic sounds like a good idea. Does Fish Lake sound good to everyone?
