Please note, snow tubing will now be held at the Elm Creek Winter Recreation Area in Maple Grove. Time stays the same

Snowtubing was scheduled for Saturday February 19th 2011, starting at 4:00 PM.

~~Current location is Buck Hill Ski Facility Burnsville, MN~~ ~~http://www.buckhill.com/winter/snowtubing.html. There was talk at the meeting about a potential new location, did anyone do some investigation on what/where that might be?~~

Dinner follows someplace near by, typically starting around 6:30.

I'm going to pass on tubing this year. I find the lines too long and just riding alone to not be much fun. I liked the old days where you got to the top of the hill and made 'human chains' with your tube and went down! They still do it here, over n Lake Elmo (by Woodbury) would it be more fun? Thoughts?

Green Acres is the place to be...oh wait, um...it looks to only be about an extra 5 minutes of a drive for me, so that's not so bad. And it appears the $15 fee is not limited to just two hours, unlike Buckhill. I probably wouldn't mind giving that place a try

I think you only get a two hour session from the looks of it. The only reason I like it better is that we can all go down the hill TOGETHER from the pictures...not in separate slides. We also should not ahve the bad lines at the top as it is not 'one at a time'. I'd rather just go and be able to make human chains

I agree. Last time at Buck Hill I only went down the hill twice. I must have stood in line 15 minutes total. Plus you can't go down together unless you plan it perfectly.

I know that there is a rather large snow tubbing park at Elm Creek Park Reserve

$12 for 2 hrs or $15 all day & they'll let you hook-up with multiples! My buddy & his wife had a group there a couple of weeks back and loved it!

So... If we do Elm Creek, both of my girls are old enough, so I can attend.

I'm willing to offer my place as afterwards for cocoa & pizza. It's just a few miles from the park.

OK. Let's plan on that then. I figure with the chili, it can cook while we're out and be ready when we get there.
