They've never really done the actual weekend of Halloween as I can remember. Probably want to make sure that all the volunteers and staff can actually have a Halloween of their own.

I know once or twice we went right from Anoka to Como, but I think it was years when Halloween was midweek, and the parade and Zooboo were both the weekend prior.

Neil is correct, they don't want to have it on the weekend of Halloween 'cos there is WAAAAY too much competition from other events on that weekend.

Anyway I'm registered. I will be going to the orientation meeting thing on the 29th... Did I read it correctly that I am to bring my costume to that? OR is that just for people who are not using their own stuff?

You shouldn't need to bring your costume to orientation. Just let them know you are part of the Star Wars costuming group. The costume part of orientation is for people to select and try on Como costumes.

Yeah, if you were just some guy who wanted to volunteer but use your own costume, they would want to approve it first. But I'm pretty sure our group, the pirates and super heroes they trust that we have high enough standards that we don't need to bring our costumes into orientation. (Though I'm completely guessing about the pirates and supers)

The contact from ZooBoo asked if a couple of people could join us on the first Saturday. I said yes. She sent photos, one has a Stormtrooper and the other has a ceremonial Leia. Both are pretty good outfits...Hopefully a couple of new recruits.
