So, who wants to see Indy at Midnight Wed Night/Thursday Morning for the May 22nd first showing at 12:01?

More theaters may start showing times, but so far two Regal theaters (Eagan and Brooklyn Center) are up for now. You have to put in the day prior (May 21st) for the midnight times/places

I'd be kosher with the Eagan one, they even have a theater with Indy on the wall in it too!

Ideas? Suggestions?

Mike,

Disregard my PM. I think I will be available for this. If I have to be up all night the following evening driving to Indianapolis, what better way than to stay up all of the previous night watching Indy IV. Even if we don't get a group, I'm up for meeting you somewhere to see it. Let me know.

I'm still thinking the Regal 16 in Eagan, it's right on Cliff Road (Cedar to Cliff Road), and go East. Really easy to find and/or Mapquest, AND it's on Fandango.com for early tickets. I've seen a few movies there with the MN Force. (There are 3 theaters so far for Midnight on Fandango as of today - not sure how many on Movietickets.com yet, maybe at least one theater last I checked, Oakdale maybe?). I'd decided to gear up, extra pounds or not... ha! And Kathy will go as my Marion again too! I'm open to people hanging at my house during the day (Wednesday) as I took it off. We can watch Indy movies and play with all my new Hasbro Indy toys I got over the weekend! What time would we want to go to the theater also? Again, I'm up for anything and everything. Only caveat is Kathy works during the day and wouldn't be home 'til 5:00 PM. So I can't leave for the theater until after that. But I'm sure we probably don't want to line up THAT early. I'm sure it'll be busy, just not sure HOW busy.

Are the theaters separated if ordering from Fandango? Would it be easier to buy in bulk so we are all in the same theater? Anybody else interested?

As far as I can tell, the Eagan Regal has two midnight showings. We can all grab tickets for the first one listed of the two, then we're good. I think...

Just ordered up my two tickets for me and Kath for the Regal Eagan at 12:01 on Fandango - remember if you want to order online, you have to use 5-21-08 as the date for the Midnight Thur morning show.

Also Kevin of local TK fame, knows the manager of the Regal Eagan and will check w/him about a table/display and all that good stuff. I can bring some props, flyers, all the good stuff we normally do at Movie Premieres. Stay tuned.

Yup! Even Harry Knowles on AICN loves it! Indy IV Info: For the Wed Night/Thur Morning showing at 12:01 at the Regal Eagan. I'm planning on getting there around 7:00 or so, with wife as Marion and myself fully geared up. I'll also have props and stuff and flyers in case they let me set it up somewhere. Kevin tried to contact them (Thanks Pal!), but they never got back to him. So I'll try one last time maybe tonight or tomorrow, but otherwise we'll see what happens. After the movie, are people wanting to hit Perkins or IHOP? I'm game. If you want to see it yet again, Thursday night at 7:10, the Heights Theater on Central Ave is where I'll be. I'm setting up something as I type this for a little display before the 7:10 movie, and afterwards (which is before the 10:00 one). Props, flyers, etc. Again, I'll be geared up, with wife as Marion and Travis (another Indy gearhead in town) will be there as well with son Oliver, also geared up! And don't forget the Indy IV Novelization signing on Tuesday the 27th a the B&N in Edina at the Galleria!

Saw it last night.....spoliers below......

I liked the first hour, but indy seems tired. His wisecracking humor is not what it used to be. The second hour was so far fetched...it was like one nonstop chase scene! The worst was the sword fight between Mutt and that black haired russian lady on the vehicles was so not even realistic...come on

And the whole alien thing and the wedding was a bit too much for me.... plus there was very little suspense...just lots of stunts. I'm still going with Raiders as the best of the series....KOTCS did not even hold a candle to it....

But should you see it...heck yes!!!!! It was still a decent movie!

I've seen it three times, with a fourth coming tomorrow (my kids are down for a visit). I felt the same way when I got done watching it the first time. It was an Indiana Jones movie up until about thirty minutes from the end, and then it veered into something else...

I saw it again yesterday thinking that maybe I'd given it a bum rap and guess what...I did! Once you know that the last thirty minutes are coming and realize that Lucas and Spielberg were going for that vibe by shifting the franchise away from 30s movie serial-esque and into 50s "Day the Earth Stood Still"-esque, you enjoy it alot more!

Today, my fiancee and I went and saw it, because she hadn't yet (that and I wanted to show her that the tall FBI agent was "Janitor" from Scrubs). Again, I enjoyed it more than the last time. I could get into the subtle nuances of the performances, especially with Indy's attitude (becoming more like his father, right down to saying "This is Intolerable" at one of Mutt's more impetuous maneuvers) and the relationship that grows between Indy and Mutt. The only thing that I wish they would've done more with was Indy's reunion with Marion. They seemed to have glossed over that.

My recommendation is to see it more than once. It grows on you!

It definately had the '50s vibe to it. And I agree it took a little bit to get used to. Also, previous Indy's had always dealt with a person's belief system (Jewish, Hindu, Christianity) and this one didn't until I thought about how it is dealing with a belief system, although not a religious one. And this fit with the 50's theme.

Loved it. Loved it from viewing one. Second viewing loved it more. Third viewing even more so. This movie grows on you quickly.

Of course, I'm biased towards it. But it was, and is, a great addition to the "World of Indiana Jones."
