The 501st Legion has been invited to participate in the Oskar Days Parade in Lindstöm, MN. I'd like to extend this invitation to the MN Force as well. Here the pertinent details:

- Saturday, July 11th, 2009
- Step-off is at 6 p.m. Line-up begins at 4:45 p.m.
- No entry fee required for non-profits
- Lindstrom is located on Hwy 8, off of I-35, northwest of Forest Lake

So far, Teresa and Brian have signed up along with Matt. There are six others who have signed up as "maybe" on the 501st boards, so we might get a decent group. Post here if you have an interest.

Yes, unless you want to bring the float! In fact, I have not yet sent in the application cuz I wanted to wait to see if we would/could bring the float.

It's possible at this point. We're taking our girls to the Hamel Rodeo earlier in the day, but I should be able to make the parade. Steve, why don't you find out if they are open to the idea and then we can plan accordingly.

I'm fine just marching too, but I know it's more difficult for other costumes.

Actually, they allow both marching and motorized units in the parade. We need to indicate the length of the vehicle + float on the entry form plus the approx. number of marchers.

The float's about 19' or 20' and a truck is 16' or so. It's a starting point. Now we need to see how many are interested.

Those whyo were at the convention know my truck is out of commission. All I need (I hope) is that pulley, but I don't knnow if I'll make it a priority this week. I suggest we plan on not having the float unless someone else wants to tow it.

Is there interest in this parade besides those who have posted?

I'm having trouble viewing the Central Garrison website, but I believe there are 3 definites and 5 maybes at this time.

from the Central Garrison there are three (3) people in the yes category and five (5) in the maybe.
three being myself, the princess and the sandperson.

oh yeah, Steve, are you going to go whether or not you can provide the float? If so, are you going to be Pappa Palpatine?! (which was fantastic by the way)

Yeah. I'll go. Anyone want to carpool? I can haul 4 or 5, but probably no armor tubs.

Brian - are you going as Han? Palpy is definitely more comfortable than Maul (and I'll shut up now, 'cause I know Maul is infinitely more comfortable than anything with armor). I'd have to do the make-up at home and drive across town with it. Not a big deal. The clean-up is more intense so I doubt I'd want to go out to eat or anything afterwards.

I haven't decided, that's why I thought I'd check, if you were going to be Han, I'd be Obi-Wan, but if you were going to do Maul or the emperor, I'd probably go as Han, since I'm sure the princess wants at least once of us to be Han.

Well, Han is my easiest one (probably yours too). The Emperor marching at Anoka parade speed might be kind of funny. Maybe it'll go at St. Louis Park speed.

I'm a definite for this, as well, but I don't post on the RL or 501st boards.

I'll be driving up from Northfield, and would certainly have room to pick one or two people up, depending on how much stuff. My station wagon is tote-sized, so no worries there for a couple of totes. Let me know!

Well, Steve, if I can get there as Vader, it would be nice to have either Maul or Palpatine to walk with. It looks like the Imperials may be in short supply for this event.
