So, I've actually finished the first scene of a fan script I've been working on. Essentially, this is the start of a story that will eventually end in Darklight, which is posted further down on this forum. I don't write starfighter scenes well, so I was glad to finally get through this scene.

Let's say I have stories and characters I created myself and I want to basically Publish them on my own web site.


Are they automatically copyrighted to me being their creator or do I have to file something somewhere to protect my intellectual property from someone else taking my characters and ideas and using them elsewhere?
